I love people, and I like taking care of people, especially the vulnerable. When patients are sick, I think they need special care, compassion and empathy. I learnt to be patient, when my dad fell sick with cancer. We had to take care of him, and through that, I learnt so much. His illness opened my eyes to the world that I really wasn't familiar with. Not to say that I wasn't compassionate then. It taught me that any of us could be on the other side of the bed, and may one day need care. Treating people as I would like to be treated is very key to me. I believe that the energy spills onto the person you are taking care of. I take my job very seriously. It is rewarding to me, and at the end of the day, I go home feeling contented and pleased that I did my very best, and helped make someone else's life a little easier. That is the reason I got into healthcare. To learn about various illness, different aspects related to health, and how our bodies change with time, depending on different circumstances, how to care for someone, should that happen. Working in a hospital for over 9 years has given me a range of experience and knowledge on how to approach diverse health situations.
